STATISTICS - COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
March 2006, the new edition of the Compensation & Benefits study will be published. The Compensation & Benefits Analysis of the Dutch Hotel Industry offers an overview of the full compensation and benefits package of the main 23 staff members in Dutch hotels. For each position, averages, minimums and maximums are given for salaries, benefits and incentives, segmented by size and pricerange of hotels. Also reviewed are the different elements of the benefits and the base of the incentives. Additionally, a regression analysis is used to determine how the salary is dependent on the size and the performance of the hotel for a number of functions. The report can be ordered using the order form.Human Resource Management is an important part of the operation in any business, but is essential in the hotel industry. Success in the hospitality industry is greatly dependent on the hospitality that is perceived by the guests, and that should be exhibited by the host or hostess: the personnel. Personnel remains central in the strategic issues of the hotel: whether it concerns the finding and binding of personnel on a tight labour market, the choice for or against payrolling to relieve the administrative pressure, or the right amount of labour flexibility to be able to respond to a fluctuating market. This report, together with the HOSTA report (with key figures on the market and financial situation in the Dutch Hotel Industry) and GOSTA report (with key figures on the market and financial situation of Dutch golf courses), is part of a growing range of statistics published by Horwath HTL. By carrying out these analyses on a regular basis, it becomes possible to recognise and evaluate trends. The height of salaries can be an important stimulus to reach for high performances. The benefits and incentives can, if organised adequately, lead to a further improvement of the performances and results. It is often difficult however, to grasp if the compensations and benefits presently offered to the personnel are competitive with the market. The results of this analysis may offer you an instrument in establishing your present position towards the market, with regard to the payroll & related expenses. Furthermore, the report may be of assistance as a reference for contract meetings.63 hotels participated in this fourth Compensation & Benefits Analysis. This report does not claim to show national averages of the industry; the key figures are solely based on the available information of the 63 hotels mentioned. Additionally, the tables include the salaries for the chosen function groups as described in the CAO, valid from 1 July, 2005. The average here is based on the Average years of experience in present job. We wish to express our special thanks to the participating hotels, which were prepared to provide us with their sensitive data. Without these parties, this Compensation & Benefits Analysis would not have been possible. A further analysis of the results of the Compensation & Benefits 2006 research can be found in the article published by Hospitality Management. The complete report can be ordered using the order form. |
